Submissions that do not follow all the guidelines will NOT be accepted!
Note: When I talk about "variants" of a series, I more or less mean alternate versions of the same general series. The best example would be the Tenchi Muyo series and all its variants. In Tenchi Universe, there is no such character as Tsunami, and Washuu is the demon instead of Ryoko, and so on. I also use the terms "series" and "movie" interchangably.
P.S.: Forgive my longwindedness. The guidelines are actually very simple and easy to follow, but I tend to be precise so they look overbearing.
The concept of Anime Girl Rankings is to vote on girls from various anime series and movies. When you vote for a character, you're essentially saying how much you like or dislike that character as a whole. You're not voting only on how the character looks or her personality, but what you think of her as a "complete package". Therefore, if you think a character is attractive but her personality irritates you, don't give her a 10. A character's ranking is simply a straight average of the total of that character's votes.
Make it a series you've seen and are familiar with. Using google to get character information for a series you haven't seen isn't going to produce a good submission. If possible, choose a series that you've seen all the variants of, so your submission will be more complete.
If the series has been released in North America, the officially licensed title should be used, even if it is different from the original Japanese title. (Petite Princess Yucie instead of Puchi Puri Yuushi) However, if another version of the series is released that uses the original Japanese name, use the original Japanese name for your entry.
Only write descriptions for female characters who make some sort of impact on the series. Characters that only appear in an episode or two or a couple of scenes can be ignored unless they make a big impact.
Character descriptions need to be three or four sentences and NEED TO BE SPOILER-FREE. If there is a difference in a character from one variant to another, another three or four sentences are needed for that variant, with a reference to which variant it is. ("In <variant1>, <character> bla bla.." and "In <variant2>, <character> bla bla..")
PROPER SPELLING AND GRAMMAR ARE IMPORTANT
If the series has been relased in North America, the officially licensed names should be used. (Yes, use "Misty" from Pokemon instead of "Kasumi") However, if the series has also been released in a version that uses the original Japanese names, the original Japanese names should be used for your entry. (Go for Usagi Tsukino instead of Serena)
NAMES MUST BE USED WITH FIRST NAME FIRST AND FAMILY NAME SECOND, REGARDLESS OF USING ENGLISH OR JAPANESE NAMES. ("Akane Tendo" and NOT "Tendo Akane")
All of the descriptions can be put in one text file, as long as it is clear which description (and all its variants, if applicable) is for which character.
Must be clear and crisp, not too distorted, and fairly representative of the character. MUST be 150 by 150 pixels and MUST be in gif format. File size can range anywhere from 9kb to 15kb, depending on which size looks best.
The name of each image must be the name of the character the image is for. Again, first name first and family name second. ("Akane Tendo.gif")
Even if there are variants for the series, only one picture of each character is required. Which variant to get a picture for is up to you, but the variant that came first is preferred. (The Tenchi OAV versus anything that came after it)
The entire submission (text file containing character descriptions and picture files for each character) should be put in a zip or rar file, the name of which should be the name of the series you're submitting followed by the name you would like to be given credit to on the submission credit page. ("Scrapped Princess - JoeShmoe.zip")
The zip or rar file can then be uploaded to the site ftp at:
ftp.animegirlrankings.com port 21
login/pass: agr/agr
If you see your submission disappear from the ftp, it means that it has either been accepted and added to the site, or it has been rejected.
If multiple submissions for a series are received, we reserve the right to mix and match the submissions as we see fit. All those who submitted the series will receive credit, regardless of how much or little of their submission is used.
