It's a Jungle Out There

Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games - and 13 new characters to vote on! The series is Janguru wa Itsumo Hare nochi Gu (or simply, Hale + Guu). Wow, I didn't expect this show to climb up my list of favorites as fast and as high as it did. Its mixture of enjoyable (not to mention cute) characters, hilarious situations, and smart writing make it a complete package. The show's humor is smart and it rarely, if ever, gets anywhere near bathroom humor. There is plenty of self-referential humor mixed with just the right amount of zaniness so that it's not overwhelming. Plus, aside from the show being a comedy, there are some genuinely emotional storylines throughout that are woven nicely into the fabric so, while they don't come out of no where, they still fit nicely with what you know of the characters. Hale + Guu, Hale + Guu Deluxe, and Hale + Guu Final provide innumerable laughs and entertainment and I can only hope that the vague note at the end of Final means there's more to come. In the meantime, vote away.
