This Sunday afternoon brings you an update with series from a number of my favorite animation studios - all that's missing is Shaft, but with the second Monogatari season coming in July, at least I have that to look forward to.

First we have Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean, from Studio Bones. My favorite Bones series is Eureka Seven, so I had high expectations for this series, and for the most part I wasn't disappointed. It had enough of a new feel to it with just the right amount of callbacks to the original series that it was fresh while still feeling connected to the world established in the original series.

Next up is the series with a mouthful of a title, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions. This romantic comedy by Kyoto Animation covers all the bases that make the studio so beloved for its moe titles: beautiful artwork and animation, adorable girls, and a well-crafted sense of timing for when to punch up the drama over the comedy and vice versa.

Next up we have a couple new characters from Studio Gainax's [[Medaka Box|Medaka Box Abnormal]]. With character intros and random single-episode stories out of the way, this sequel focuses on a specific story arc and turns up the drama, action, and ridiculous powers. It clicked a lot faster for me than the first season did.

Lastly, we have a pleasant four episode OAV called One Off, about a group of moped-riding girls living in a small country town and the bombastic foreigner who arrives and adds excitement to their lives.

In site development news, since we pushed out the new version of the site, we've implemented Facebook likes, made most tables sortable via javascript, and added a new section to the stats called 'Fun Statistics' with random stats that we'll be adding to over time. Have fun!
